Live, recorded, instrumental or choir
Everyone has an opinion about the music they would like played at their funeral. It is possibly the easiest and most cost-effective way to personalise the event.
If your family or wider whanau has musical talent, instrumental or choral – use it.
When to play music?
There are a number of opportunities throughout a funeral to play music;
Preamble – as people gather at the venue, usually about half an hour
Processional – when the coffin is carried in (around 4 minutes)
Reflection – a dedicated moment to contemplate
Photoshow – a synced music track to accompany the photos (about 4 ½ minutes for 40 images)
Recessional – when the coffin is carried out (around 4 minutes).
Recorded Music
We can create a playlist for the day, if the choices are readily available on line, let us know the artist and version you prefer and we can source it.
If you have original, non-mainstream music tracks in mind – you can email us the MP3 files.
Licenced to play
Broadbent & May has a licence with APRA (Australasian Performing Right Association) so can play all music.
